Anton Takes A Bow

Anton’s compassionate side is revealed in Anton Takes a Bow when his friend, Stephen, is injured on the way to school one morning. He realizes that his friend is in need of immediate medical attention and it’s up to him to find it. He rides to the school in search of Mr. Girvin, the school principal. He quickly tells the principal what happened and later, Mr. Girvin calls Anton to his office and reassures him that Stephen will be all right and will be back to school in a few days. Anton visits Stephen at home just to make sure that his friend is all right. Later, when the students are gathered in the gym for the month-end assembly, Anton is surprised to hear Mr. Girvin call his name. He accepts the special award for the part he played in seeking help for Stephen.
